SLASH: AXL ROSE Has 'A Ton Of S**t' Recorded For Possible New GUNS N' ROSES Album
August 23, 2018Slash has confirmed that Axl Rose has plenty of material in the works for a possible new GUNS N' ROSES album.
Three-fifths of the classic GUNS lineup reunited in 2016 after last performing together more than two decades earlier. The "Not In This Lifetime" tour, which is now one of the highest-grossing in music history, launched in April of that year with a nightclub gig in Los Angeles and shows no signs of stopping, with more dates booked in November.
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, the guitarist praised his relationship with his bandmates and revealed the GN'R reunion may also result in some new music. "Now that we've actually mended fences and gotten back together and done this, we're going to keep it together," he said. "Because all the bullshit we'd had that sort of caused all of the shit back in the '90s, there was a lot of outside influence on that, so now that that's sort of eliminated, we're just left to our own devices. We get along fucking great."
He added: "I think we're going to go well on into the future. I mean, Axl's got a ton of shit that he recorded already, so we're going to get in there and just start getting into that thing, and then if we do a record and then do a tour, I could see that cycle going on endlessly."
Joining Rose and Slash on the "Not In This Lifetime" trek are bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
GUNS N' ROSES' latest studio album, "Chinese Democracy", came out in 2008 and featured only Axl from the classic lineup.
The last album on which Rose, McKagan and Slash appeared together was 1993's covers set "The Spaghetti Incident?"
Slash will release his fourth solo album and third with his band THE CONSPIRATORS, "Living The Dream", in September.
